Raising kids today is not harder than it used to be because parents care less. It is harder because the landscape has changed faster than the available guidance.
Social media, anxiety, identity, screen time, grief, pressure to perform – these are not new problems, but they are arriving earlier, moving faster, and landing with more complexity than most families were prepared for. And the information meant to help is often contradictory, clinical, or disconnected from the reality of raising a kid in an actual community, with actual pressures, in an actual moment in time.
Live Like Sam spends time close to those realities. In schools, at youth panels, in conversations with students, parents, educators, and clinicians across Park City and the Wasatch region. What we hear consistently is that families are not looking for more content. They are looking for better signal.
Parent Corner is designed to be that.
Here, we surface what young people are actually saying, pair those insights with perspective from credible researchers and institutions, and translate both into something useful for families navigating real life. We are not the experts. We are close to the conversation, and we know how to find the people who are.
WHAT YOU WILL FIND HERE
Distillations of youth voice. Research worth knowing. Practical perspective without the noise.
Some posts draw directly from LLS events and youth panels. Others spotlight emerging themes in adolescent development, mental health, and family communication. Over time, Parent Corner will become a growing library — free, grounded, and built for the families in this community.
The goal is not to overwhelm. It is to equip.
We hope it becomes a place you return to when you want a clearer read on what young people are navigating, what the research actually says, and how to stay connected through the questions that do not have easy answers.
What this means for you
Come back when something feels off and you are not sure why. Come back before a hard conversation. Come back when you want to understand, not just respond.
CREDIBLE. CURATED. FREE.
That is the commitment.
