Youth Development Programs

Initiatives encouraging positive personal development for youth.

Live Like Sam is a Summit County-based nonprofit that aims to empower adolescents to take charge of their well-being and live authentic lives. Our organization is motivated by the inspiring life and untimely death of Sam Jackehthal, yet has grown to engage this generation of youth in developing both their leadership and well-being skills.

We believe strongly in leadership development. Our aim is to help students become the most authentic version of themselves and develop healthy tools for well-being. While the majority of our programming focuses on mental well-being and positive development for teens and adolescents, we begin to introduce these tools to the younger generation through shorter modules and conversations.

In addition, parents, students, and counselors have given feedback that this program is uplifting and provides the necessary skills and coping mechanisms to help our youth improve their well-being and live with purpose and intention.

Bucket List Challenge

Do you have a bucket list? We only recently found out that Sam did. While he was not able to scratch off each item, he made significant progress and lived each day of his short life to the fullest. Our aim is to provide support and help knock down the barriers keeping you from pursuing your bucket list.

In the end, it’s not the years in your life that count. It’s the life in your years.
