March 8, 2022 (Park City, Utah) – The Utah Olympic Legacy Foundation Healthy Communities Initiative continues to grow its mission of impacting Utah’s youth – most recently through a generous $10,000 Live Like Sam Foundation grant. The Park City-based 501c3 honors the life and legacy of Sam Jackenthal – a former Park City Ski and Snowboard and Flying Ace All-Stars professional jumping team athlete.
“We are thrilled to be partnering with Utah Olympic Legacy Foundation and supporting their Healthy Communities Initiative, and providing a $10,000 grant. Our organization’s missions are so closely aligned, making this an incredibly natural and impactful partnership. Our family and foundation have had an incredibly special relationship with the Utah Olympic Legacy Foundation. Utah Olympic Park is not only where Sam got his start competing in skiing at age six but is also where over 1,400 community members gathered for Sam’s celebration of life in 2015.”
said Ron Jackenthal, Sam’s father and Live Like Sam founder
The donation will support Utah Olympic Legacy Foundation’s Healthy Communities Initiative and Scholarship Fund whicph celebrates racial, gender and economic diversity by introducing low-to-moderate-income youth to new sporting opportunities. Utah Olympic Legacy Foundation works with local schools, physical education classes and at-risk programs to provide transportation, equipment, field time and instruction for youth in Utah communities.i
“Our Healthy Communities Initiative and Scholarship Fund would not exist without generous support from organizations like Live Like Sam Foundation, a foundation that celebrates the attributes that we wish to instill in Utah’s youth through our winter sport programs,”
said Colin Hilton, Utah Olympic Legacy Foundation’s president and CEO
