For those of you who do not already know, Sam’s father Ron Jackenthal and Basin Recreation worked together to place a memorial bench for Sam on Rob’s Trail.
Over the past few years, hundreds of local hikers and visitors from around the world have stopped to pay tribute – many of whom have taken the time to leave behind kind words, memories and lessons learned in Sam’s Memorial Journal.
We’ve decided to reframe this journal, however, in the most Sam way possible: from now on, it’s the Live Like Sam Positivity Journal.
We plan to regularly highlight some of the entries… and share the positivity that Sam not only embraced in life, but left behind in his wake.
Our first positivity share:
Sam, I’ve never met a happier soul then Sam. Although his life was taken much too soon, Sam lived a full life. He experienced the world and influenced everyone he met. He had one of those smiles that lasts forever and a personality that is unforgettable. His life lives on with all of us. Sam was the kindest person I’ve ever met with a true heart of gold. The best way he would have wanted us to remember him would be by giving back. For Sam, follow your dreams and don’t stop until you get there. We love you, Sam. You will live on forever in our hearts.
